As President
and Chief Executive Officer of The Robert Green Company, Mr. Green
is responsible for managing all activities of the Company. His
responsibilities and areas of expertise include acquisition and
feasibility analysis, transaction structuring, finance, development
management, entitlement processing, design supervision, construction
management and operator interface and coordination.
Formerly Director of Development for Hillman Properties, his
experience includes the design, construction and development of
large-scale mixed-use, commercial office and hospitality projects.
Of the variety of product types that Mr. Green has developed or
constructed, hotel and resort development have been the most notable
throughout his career and have been the focus of his activity.
Saggio Hills
Resort and Residences –
After conducting a four year search for the right resort and
residential opportunity in
California’s wine country, Mr. Green was
responsible for identifying this 258 acre property and engineering
its acquisition. Mr. Green manages the Company’s relationship
with the both the project’s capital partners and the resort
operator. He is also responsible for spearheading the
entitlement and annexation process in close coordination with
Sonoma
County and the City of Healdsburg. Under
his leadership, the design team, comprised of world renowned
Architects, Interior Designers and Landscape Architects is creating
what will be the highest quality, most comprehensive luxury resort
and residential experience in this region. Mr. Green is
heavily involved in every aspect of the development of this $310
million project.
Four Seasons
Hotel Silicon Valley –
Mr. Green identified this opportunity for the Company’s capital
partners and successfully negotiated the acquisition of this hotel
site at the gateway to Palo Alto and in the heart of the dynamic Silicon Valley. This redevelopment project is only
minutes from Stanford
University and the
corporate headquarters enclaves of Page Mill and Sand Hill Roads,
this luxury hotel meets a completely unfilled luxury hospitality
market for the high tech and venture capital industries. Mr. Green
negotiated the project entitlements with the city staff and council
and spearheaded the execution of an innovative Grant Agreement with
the city which allowed the use of transient occupancy tax funds to
be channeled to the project in order to meet the city’s desire for
prevailing wage construction labor and first source hiring
practices. Mr. Green led the design team to create a contemporary
yet classic and timeless architectural and interior design style for
the project. Mr. Green brought together and structured the
debt and equity components of the project.
Four Seasons
Resort Jackson Hole –
Mr. Green was responsible for negotiating the acquisition of the
property and the structuring of the joint venture between the
original land owners and the project’s capital partners. He
led the planning and land-use team through the intricate entitlement
process for this world-class resort situated in the heart of the Grand Teton mountain range. Mr. Green was responsible for
structuring the equity capital contributions from four different
capital partners as well as leading the company’s team for the
placement of both the construction debt and the residential consumer
financing packages for the project. He oversaw all aspects of
the relationship with the resort operator, including the negotiation
of the management agreement, pre-opening activities, annual
operating budget preparation and FF&E purchasing. He was also
intimately involved in all aspects of design and construction for
the project.
Four Seasons Resort Aviara –
Prior to founding The Robert Green Company, as Director of
Development for Hillman Properties, Mr. Green was responsible
for all aspects of the development of the Hotel, Residence Club,
Sports Club, Golf Club and Information Center,
which collectively formed the centerpiece of this 1000 acre
master planned community. He oversaw the design and
construction teams for each component of the project, from
entitlement through the California Coastal Commission and the
City of Carlsbad
to delivery of the project to the resort operator. As part of
the evolution of this exiting project Mr. Green was responsible
for coordinating the conceptualization, design and legal and
financial structure for the first interval ownership residential
project that Four Seasons had ever undertaken. Faced with a
devastating recession in the early stages of the project, Mr.
Green was responsible for re-engineering the projects’ business
plan, budgets, land-uses and entitlements to create a
financially successful project.
