Professional Responsibilities & Experience

As Senior Vice President of Construction, Mr. King is responsible for all construction related activities of The Robert Green Company. Mr. King joined The Robert Green Company in 1999 bringing degrees in both Architecture and Construction Management, along with 18 years of large commercial and hospitality general contracting, contract negotiation and design oversight experience to the development and construction of The Robert Green Company properties.

Mr. King is integrally involved in the site selection, due diligence and entitlement assessment for each prospective property, reviewing the applicable legal, zoning, financial and architectural issues as they may influence the properties highest and best use. Mr. King is responsible for creation of each project’s development budget and overall development schedule assessing required activity timeframes and sequencing through project completion. Mr. King’s role is to interface with the development team in solicitation, review and selection of each of the design consultants to ensure the design requirements are appropriately blended with those of the preconstruction activities of the General Contractor.

In managing the selection, contracting and execution of both the pre-construction and construction activities for each project, The Robert Green Company’s philosophy is to engage General Contractor’s early in the design process and provide full time budgeting, constructability, and scheduling information to the design team to influence the design toward the required efficiency’s of building size, configuration, material and systems selection. Mr. King is further responsible for the drafting and negotiation of the Construction Agreement, oversight of The Robert Green Company’s jobsite management team and the Architect’s construction administration personnel to ensure the required program and budgetary objectives are realized.

Prior to joining The Robert Green Company, Mr. King spent nine years as Project Manager for Roel Construction Company managing, estimating, and bidding large commercial projects throughout southern California.

Saggio Hills Resort and Residences– Mr. King is responsible for overseeing all construction related activities which include preparation and implementation of the development budget, consultation in the preparation of drawings, plans and specifications for the project, and negotiation of the terms of a construction contract. Mr. King will play an integral role in retaining the services of established architects, engineers, surveyors, and special consultants. Mr. King will collaborate with the development team during all stages of construction in order to expedite the performance of the work and each phase thereof in accordance with the project’s objectives on cost, time, and quality.

Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole – Mr. King managed all design, preconstruction and construction activities related to the development of the luxury resort property from inception to completion including, site selection and entitlement; preparation and negotiation of all design and construction agreements; preparation and oversight of all schedules and budgets; review and resolution of contract amendments and change orders; furniture, fixture and equipment procurement and installation.

Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley Mr. King was responsible for the initial budget preparation, contractor selection and pre-construction activities for the property.
