THE HYATT REGENCY LA JOLLA AT
A 400 room, 16 story
business and conference hotel, with its ochre and Baruli stone
facade and powerful arched skyline, the Hyatt Regency La Jolla is
one of the most distinctive forms of the project.
A concrete frame
with a synthetic plaster finished tower, precast stone clad base and
copper arched roof structure, the building was designed as a
conventional double loaded corridor to maximize efficiency of the
hotel use.
The project includes
an 11,800 square foot ballroom and an additional 14,000 square feet
of meeting rooms, a three story clear height lobby lounge, bar and
restaurant, separate bar and billiard room, subterranean parking for
over 1,200 cars and outdoor function spaces.

subcontractor bidding, scope review, subcontract negotiation and
administration, scheduling, payment applications, project cost
control and design team coordination.

THE SPORTING CLUB AT
A 30,000 square foot
state of the art health facility including a 3 story circular steel
frame structure, the main building was designed to be reminiscent of
the great athletic coliseums of

includes a two clear story exercise room with a structurally
suspended mezzanine, third floor cardiovascular deck, a juice bar,
executive and membership locker rooms, spa and treatment rooms, and
sauna and steam rooms.
The project also includes a combined three-lane lap and recreational
pool, outdoor spa and two outdoor tennis courts.

THE
This 260,000 square
foot structural steel building actually consists of three distinct
structural forms: a six story rectangular plan, center core, large
floor plate element, an eleven story square plan tower, and an
adjacent 11 story circular shaped “campanile” tower for executive
offices and board rooms with spectacular views of the distant ocean,
La Jolla, and the hills surrounding UCSD.
Other features of
the Aventine office building include its high finish entry and
elevator lobbies, an elaborate porte cochere deck and five levels of
parking in a subterranean concrete frame parking structure.
